PITTSBURGH – Pitt Athletics is excited to announce the relaunch of the Panthers to Pros Mentorship Program, an integral component of the Cathy & John Pelusi Family Life Skills Program. This program is designed to provide student-athletes with the tools, guidance, and connections necessary to succeed both during and after their athletic careers at the University of Pittsburgh.
The Panthers to Pros Mentorship Program pairs current student-athletes with accomplished alumni and professionals who have navigated the transition from collegiate athletics to professional careers. This mentorship fosters personal and professional growth, offering student-athletes a comprehensive support system that extends beyond their time at Pitt.
"We are thrilled about the rebrand and relaunch of the Panthers to Pros Mentorship Program," said Kristen Marsters, Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives at the University of Pittsburgh. "This program embodies our commitment to the holistic development of our student-athletes. By connecting them with successful Forever Panthers and professionals, we are equipping them with valuable insights and resources that will serve them well in all aspects of their lives."
Michaela Burton, a Gymnastics Forever Panther and Pitt's Assistant Director of Mentorship, expressed her enthusiasm for the program's relaunch. "The Panthers to Pros Mentorship Program is an incredible initiative I've had the pleasure of working on for the past three years. Our mission is to bridge the gap between athletics and professional life by helping our student-athletes realize their full potential both on and off the field."
The changes to the program include a new logo and formal open-enrollment periods – which will lead to more intentional, meaningful mentorship pairings. By relaunching the Panthers to Pros Mentorship Program, the Cathy & John Pelusi Family Life Skills Program reaffirms its dedication to the lifelong success of its student-athletes. This initiative not only prepares them for immediate career opportunities but also instills the skills and confidence needed to excel in all future endeavors.
