PITTSBURGH—Pitt's 2024 football schedule will feature seven home games, including contests against perennial power Clemson and historic rival West Virginia.
The ACC Network revealed the Panthers' full 12-game schedule today during a live telecast. Pitt will play eight ACC contests under the newly implemented scheduling model, including two of the conference's new additions for 2024.
The schedule's home highlights:
- The 107th renewal of the Backyard Brawl against West Virginia will be played on Sept. 14. The last time the rivals played at Acrisure Stadium, the game attracted a Pittsburgh sports-record crowd of 70,622.
- Pitt will host four ACC games: California (Oct. 12), Syracuse (Oct. 24), Virginia (Nov. 9) and Clemson (Nov. 16).
- The Panthers' encounter with Cal marks the first game between the schools in 58 years. The Bears will be playing their inaugural ACC season in 2024.
- Pitt and Syracuse get the Thursday primetime national television treatment. (The ESPN network will be announced later.) The Panthers and Orange have played every year since 1955.
- Former Coastal Division foes Pitt and Virginia renew ties following a one-season hiatus.
- Dabo Swinney's Tigers visit Acrisure for the first time since Pitt's memorable ACC championship season triumph in 2021. The Panthers' 43 wins in ACC play since 2015 trail only Clemson.
- Pitt opens the season against Kent State on Aug. 31. The Panthers also host Youngstown State on Sept. 21.
Pitt's initial away contest will be at Big 12 foe Cincinnati (Sept. 7). The conference road slate includes trips to North Carolina (Oct. 5), newly minted ACC member SMU (Nov. 2), Louisville (Nov. 23) and Boston College (Nov. 30).
Due to the 2024 calendar and an earlier Labor Day (Sept. 2), this fall's college football regular season will give each team two open weeks. The Panthers will be off on Sept. 28 and Oct. 19.
Pitt football season-ticket pricing remains family friendly. Packages begin at $220 and offer flexible payment plans. Season-ticket holders receive priority to request additional single-game tickets to all home and away games, including the 2024 Backyard Brawl.
