WASHINGTON, DC – The No. 8 Pitt men's soccer team (1-1-1, 0-0-0 ACC) was handed their first loss of the 2023 campaign Friday afternoon against Georgetown as the Hoyas earned the 4-1 home victory at Shaw Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED – FIRST HALF
- The Hoyas got on the board first in the sixth minute as Kyle Linhares beat Cabral Carter to the lower left corner after a pass from Max Viera
- The first shot of the match for Pitt came in the seventh minute as Guilherme Feitosa saw his hard shot soar just left of the cage
- Georgetown pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 20th minute as Kenny Nielsen beat Carter to the low right corner off the corner kick. Maximus Jennings and Zach Zengue collected the assists on the goal
- In the final minute, Filip Mirkovic had the final chance of the half but his shot attempt was blocked and the Hoyas took the 2-0 lead into the locker room
HOW IT HAPPENED – SECOND HALF
- Georgetown netted their third goal of the match in the 48th minute as Linhares scored his second of the match, beating Carter to the low right corner
- In the 53rd minute, Georgetown made it 4-0 as Joe Buck netted his first of the season to the lower left corner
- Pitt finally got on the board in the 79th minute as Luka Kozomara took a pass from Santiago Ferreira and he beat the defender to the end line and beat the Hoyas keeper between the legs for his second goal in two games
