PITTSBURGH – The Pitt Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season, early Monday afternoon. The Panthers will face off against four Top 25 opponents this season, including the reigning men's team national champion California.
Pitt opens its season with a home meet against Army (Sept. 22), followed by the Blue Gold Intersquad Meet (Sept. 29). The Panthers will hit the road to face off against three nationally recognized programs in October, swimming against Stanford (Oct. 13) and California (Oct. 14) with a double dual meet against Penn State and Notre Dame (Oct. 20-21).
In November, the Panthers return to Trees Pool to face George Washington (Nov. 4) before the divers travel to the Ohio State Invite (Nov. 15-18). The Pitt swimmers will compete at the Minnesota Invite (Nov. 29-Dec. 2) and the divers will close out the calendar year at the Diving Winter Nationals (Nov. 29-Dec. 6).
Pitt kicks off the new year by traveling to West Virginia (Jan. 13) for the Backyard Brawl before returning to Trees Pool to host Minnesota (Jan. 19-20) for its final home meet of the season. The Panthers close out the regular season with a dual meet at Ohio State (Feb. 3) and return to Columbus for the Ohio State Winter Invite (Feb. 16-18).
Head coach Chase Kreitler looks to build on the success of the program as the Panthers saw 31 program records broken, 15 student-athletes qualify for the 2023 NCAA championships, five individuals earn All-American honors, and four student-athletes qualify for the 2024 U.S. Olympic trials.
