Panthers Named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad & Four Placed on Division I Honor Roll

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt lacrosse team was named a 2023 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad and four Panthers: Maureen McNierney, Abby Thorne, Gabriella Turano and Brittney Villhauer were named to the Division I Honor Roll, announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Wednesday afternoon.
Each of the four Panthers named to the squad are members of the "original 14," the 14 student-athletes who joined Pitt for "Year 0." Turano and Villhauer finished their careers in the blue and gold this spring, while McNierney and Thorne are rising seniors.

Minimum academic requirements for selection as an Academic Honor Squad are a 3.2 grade point average and to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll are a 3.5 and above cumulative grade point average for one's academic career. Juniors, seniors and graduate students that met the criteria were eligible.
