Cash Qualifies for NCAA Championships

Three Pitt Men Place in 1-Meter Finals
MORGANTOWN, WV – Sophomore Cameron Cash punched his ticket to qualify for his second NCAA Championships in the men's 1-meter event Monday afternoon on day one of the NCAA Zone A Championships. Cash's preliminary and final performances combined for a score of 660.90 to earn fourth overall – surpassing his last year's 658.40.
"This was a great start to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships," said head diving coach Katie Kasprzak. "Cam had a stellar performance to earn him a spot at the NCAA Championships, Josh had a really strong finish to his 1-meter diving career, and Dylan secured an NCAA B Cut. We're excited to continue this momentum into day two as a lot of people have their best events to come."
Junior Dylan Reed earned a spot in the men's 1-meter finals, finishing with a final score of 628.80 to finish eighth overall – earning an NCAA B Cut. Fifth year Josh Parquet also claimed a spot in the finals – registering a 576.05 to place 16th overall.
Of the 66 participants in the women's 3-meter, freshman Rachel Dickerson finished 21st (266.70) and sophomore Jess Vega placed 40th (236.90).
On the men's side, freshman Juan Osorio Mendoza placed 22nd (278.20) and freshman Ethan Radio took 27th (262.50) out of the 52 competitors in the event.

The Panthers are back in action tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. with the women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter competitions.
