All 32 NFL Teams Attend 2023 Pitt Football Pro Day

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt football program held its annual Pro Day on Wednesday at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side and made headlines across the football world after several former Panthers posted impressive performances ahead of April's NFL Draft in Kansas City.
The 2023 Pitt Football Pro Day welcomed personnel from all 32 NFL teams and multiple CFL teams to scout 14 former Panthers who participated in various testing disciplines and positional drills.
All-American Israel Abanikanda was the big story of the day after posting marks in the vertical jump (40 inches) and broad jump (10 feet, 8 inches) that would've led all running backs at the 2023 NFL Combine. The talented tailback also ran a 40-yard dash that was timed out in the 4.3-4.4 range and impressed in his drill session.
ACC Defensive Player of the Year Calijah Kancey cemented his status as a potential first-round draft pick next month, while several other Panthers likely improved their draft stock as well. Linebacker SirVocea Dennis and wide receiver Jared Wayne each leaped 41.5 inches in the vertical jump, which also would've been high marks for their respective positions at the Combine.
Pitt's athletic performances were so unbeliveable that scouts asked the vertical jump testers to recheck the device to make sure the numbers were accurate; they were indeed correct, making Pitt's Pro Day results quite the testament to the development of this group of former Panthers on the field by head coach Pat Narduzzi and his assistant coaches in the weight room by strength and conditioning coach Mike Stacchiotti and his staff.
