
Carrington Named to Capital All-Star Team

PITTSBURGH – Pitt incoming recruit Carlton Carrington has been named to the Capital All-Star Team and will compete in the 50th Annual Hoop Culture Capital Classis Saturday, April 29 at Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
Carrington is coming off an outstanding high school season setting a St. Frances Academy record with over 1,000 points while leading the team to a 29-11 record overall and an 11-3 mark in Baltimore Catholic League play. He earned First Team All-BCL, BCL all-tournament, and MIAA all-tournament team accolades in 2023. He also earn MVP recognition at the DTLR Classic, R1A Classic, Jumpman Classic, More than Basketball Game, and St. James MLK Classic. A two-time MIAA conference champion, Carrington scored a MLK Classic record 43 points in a win over Heritage Christian and was also named to all-tournament teams at First Team Triple Threat Classic and City of Palms.
Carrington, a four-star prospect ranked in the top 100 by Rivals (No. 87), finished his high school career with over 2,000 points scored. As a senior, he averaged over 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game with shooting splits of .490/.380/.860.

The Capital All-Stars will be led by St. Frances Academy products Carrington (Pitt) and Jahnathan Lamothe (Maryland) and Maryland Gatorade State Player of the Year Amani Hansberry (Illinois).
Ricky Goings, director of Player Engagement and Alumni Relations for the Capital Classic, added, "The Capital All-Stars are well positioned to defend the DMV's turf against what will be a strong U.S. All-Star team. We look forward to hosting a competitive game as part of our 50th Anniversary."
Hayfield Secondary School Head Coach Carlos Poindexter accepted the invitation to coach The Capital Team. His Hayfield teams are 62-1 in the last two years, winning two straight Virginia State Championships.
The Capital All-Star Team roster is rounded out with Austin Ball (George Mason), Carter Lang (Vanderbilt), Greg Jones (American), Jacoi Hutchinson (George Washington), Jamie Kaiser (Maryland), DCIAA (District of Columbia Interscholastic Athletic Association) Player of the Year Lafayette Williams (Undecided), D.C. Gatorade Player of the Year Malik Mack (Harvard), Braden Pierce (Maryland), Thomas Batties (Harvard), and IAC Player of the Year Tyler Perkins (Penn).
