Pitt Wrestling Announces 2023-24 Promotions

PITTSBURGH—Pitt Athletics announced the promotional schedule for the highly anticipated 2023-24 wrestling home slate, featuring seven duals against some of the nation's top programs.
Coming off earning third straight NCAA top-25 finish, winning an ACC dual title and producing a national champion individual last season, head coach Keith Gavin and the Panthers return for another season looking for more honors.
And a home schedule that includes nonconference matchups with Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Illinois and Rider as well as ACC showdowns with NC State, Virginia Tech and Virginia should provide the perfect preparation for Pitt's wrestlers ahead of the all-important 2024 postseason.
Past All-American Cole Matthews leads a squad with a nice mixture of experienced and youthful talent, with Pitt's roster boasting eight individuals currently ranked in their respective weight classes according to the polls released by college wrestling news service InterMat.
In addition to season-long promotions such as post-match autographs with Pitt's student-athletes, sticker giveaways, t-shirt tosses and more, here is a breakdown of specific promotions for each of Pitt's home contests during the 2023-24 wrestling campaign:
Sunday, Dec. 3, 6 p.m. – Illinois
