PITTSBURGH—With the addition of three new league members for the 2024 football season, the Atlantic Coast Conference today revealed its scheduling model for the next seven years (2024-30).
The ACC expands to 17 schools next summer with the addition of California, SMU and Stanford. The new football scheduling format will continue with no divisions and each ACC team playing eight conference games (four home and four away) per season. The top two teams by conference winning percentage will meet in the annual ACC Football Championship Game.
Pitt will have two annually protected matchups against traditional eastern rivals Boston College and Syracuse. Each of the ACC's 17 teams will play each other at least twice over the next seven seasons, once at home and once on the road.
The current 14 conference teams will play a total of three times each in California over the seven years and none will travel west to California in back-to-back seasons.
