PITTSBURGH – Women's soccer's Anna Bout and Men's soccer's Raphael Cilli were named this week's PNC Achievers of the Week following yet another dominant weekend by both of Pitt's soccer programs.
Fifth year forward Anna Bout was a crucial piece to the puzzle this week, helping the Panthers secure two ranked wins this weekend. The Cambridge, Ontario, Canada native secured the game winning goal against ranked Duke on Thursday night to collect the first win in program history against the Blue Devils. The fifth year also posted a goal against Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon to help Pitt take down the Demon Deacons, 4-1. Bout now has four goals on the season and nine points total.
Sophomore defender Raphael Cilli had the best game of his young career Friday night in the Panthers' 3-1 home victory over Virginia Tech. The talented player entered the match after an injury and made an immediate impact at right back for Pitt. In the 81st minute, Cilli made a great run up the right side and buried his first career goal into the lower left goal for the eventual game-winner. A couple minutes later, the Frenchman added an assist on Guilherme Feitosa's highlight reel goal to secure the win for Pitt. Cilli finished the match playing 60 minutes and helped the Pitt defense hold the Hokies attack to just five shots in the second half in the win. The three-point night for Cilli marked a career-high.
