Pitt Duo Returns From Study Abroad Trip to Greece with USA East Coast Basketball

PITTSBURGH – Pitt wings William Jeffress and Nate Santos are coming off a week-long study abroad trip to Athens, Greece with USA East Coast. The team posted a 3-0 record on the trip, while touring the some of the most historic places on the Aegean Sea. PittsburghPanthers.com caught up with the tandem to get their reactions from the trip.
Santos averaged 11.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game, while Jeffress delivered 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.

William Jeffress scored a transition dunk off a feed from Aundre Hyatt (Rutgers) with 58 seconds remaining to give USA East Coast the lead and help the team overcome a 17-point deficit in its first of three games in Athens, Greece. Jeffress finished with a team-high matching 14 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes of action. Hyatt also posted 14 points, while Nate Santos added 10 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal in the win.

Panerythraikos battled back to take a five-point lead with three minutes remaining before USA East Coast locked in on defense, holding the opposition scoreless over the final 1:30 of play, to conclude the trip with a 3-0 record. Pitt's duo of Nate Santos (13 points, seven rebounds, two steals) and William Jeffress (11 points, six rebounds, two blocks) combined for 24 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks in 37 minutes of action.
