PITTSBURGH – Pitt lacrosse ends their inaugural season on a positive note, receiving votes in the final IL Women/IWLCA Division I poll.
The last poll of the 2022 season was the fourth time during the Panthers' first year that they received votes in the top women's lacrosse poll (3/28, 4/11, 5/9, 5/31). Six ACC schools were ranked in the Top-25 and Virginia Tech received votes as well. This includes the newly crowned national champions, the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Six schools from the conference entered the NCAA Tournament. Three made the quarterfinals and two, Boston College and UNC, played for the national title. The Tar Heels and Eagles have now won the past two championships.
Pitt hopes to make more headway in the postseason in year two, as the ACC will welcome another inaugural program in the Clemson Tigers.
