Forever Panther to Enroll in Pitt’s Physician Assistant Studies Hybrid Graduate Program
PITTSBURGH – Olivia Miller, a recent University of Pittsburgh graduate and gymnastics alumna, has been granted the 2022-23 George I. Carson Graduate Fellowship full award.
A Monroeville, Pa., native, Miller graduated Sunday from Pitt with a bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and a certificate in Pathokinesiology in Rehabilitation. She is set to enroll in Pitt's Physician Assistant Studies Hybrid Program, a two-year graduate program.
Miller was selected as the winner by a committee of Pitt sport administrators, academic counselors and staff.
The Carson Fellowship Full Award lengthens an impressive list of Miller's accomplishments during her undergraduate career, including the 2022 ACC Postgraduate Scholarship and a place on the Pitt Varsity Walk as a 2021-22 Blue-Gold Award winner. As the 2021-22 President of Pitt's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Miller was instrumental in bolstering the Panthers' community service efforts.
On the competition floor, Miller was a four-time all-conference honoree by the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL), earning first team honors in the all-around (2019, 2021) and second team honors on floor exercise (2020, 2021). She earned EAGL All-Tournament honors on all four of five events during her four-year undergraduate career and was a two-time EAGL Rookie of the Week in 2019. She received All-Scholastic honors from the EAGL in all each year of her career.

The George I. Carson Graduate Fellowship was stewarded to the University of Pittsburgh to provide
graduate scholarships to recent Pitt graduates. The recipients must be of high moral character and have shown outstanding undergraduate academic achievement at the University of Pittsburgh, who demonstrate the potential for outstanding graduate study in continuing their graduate or professional education at the University of Pittsburgh.
Individuals eligible for Carson Awards shall meet the following criteria:

- The individual must be a former student-athlete that participated in a minimum of one season of competition in a Division I athletics program at the University of Pittsburgh;
- The individual must have graduated with a bachelor's degree (with preference for individuals that earned their bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh;
- The individual must have exhausted his or her NCAA athletics eligibility; and
- The individual must ultimately be accepted and enrolled in a University of Pittsburgh graduate or professional school.
