Petty Earns All-America Honors for Fifth Time

PITTSBURGH – Graduate transfer Paige Petty was named Honorable Mention All-America by USA Lacrosse Magazine as announced Tuesday afternoon. Petty joined the Pitt Lacrosse team for its inaugural season of competition in 2022 after completing a record-setting four-year career at Virginia Tech.
Petty is now a five-time All-America selection and was named an All-ACC player in all four seasons the league announced the honors. In her lone season at Pitt, she led the team in goals (43), points (54), free position goals (15), and draw controls (71). Petty previously finished her time at Virginia Tech ranked among the program leaders in points scored (T-1st - 227), goals (1st - 204) and draw controls (4th - 241), while starting 62 of 63 career games. She finished her career recording a point in all 80 contests played and scoring in her final 47 games.
Five ACC players were named to the first team, seven to the second team, five to the third and 18 honorable mention.
Six ACC teams will play in the 2022 NCAA Tournament that gets underway later this week.
