The Opening Tip
• Pitt earned the 12-seed in the 2022 New York Life ACC Basketball Tournament and will open postseason play Tuesday, March 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn against 13-seed Boston College. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. with Anish Shroff and Jordan Cornette calling the action on the ACC Network.
• The Panthers are 6-8 all-time in ACC Tournament play, including a 3-2 mark in first round action. Pitt is 2-3 in the conference tournament under head coach Jeff Capel with a 2-1 mark in opening round contests.
• Pitt topped Boston College, 80-70, in the opening round of the 2019 ACC Tournament in Charlotte, N.C.
