SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA – Forever Panther Paulina DiFatta will be back with Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse when she plays in their exhibition game coming up next month. The league announced they will host the game at The St. James Sports and Wellness Complex in Springfield, Virginia on December 17 at 7 p.m.
Last summer, DiFatta played her first season with Athletes Unlimited in the second season of existence for the league. She joins 15 other AU athletes confirmed so far for the matchup. Tickets will be available with admission free for those under 5, $10 for those under 16, and $15 for those 16 and above. Players will be available for autographs following the game.
Instead of the Athletes Unlimited format, the exhibition game will compete in the World Lacrosse Sixes based on a 6v6 format. Sixes is a fast-paced version of the sport that emphasizes tempo with fewer stoppages in play. It is played on a smaller field with fewer players and a condensed game length.
In their inaugural season, DiFatta led Pitt in ground balls (51), saves (198) and save percentage (.469). She ranked second in the league in save percentage and first in saves, saves per game, and ground balls. Her 198 saves ranked fourth in the country. Over her career, DiFatta made 661 saves and recorded a .493 save percentage.
