Jacquesson Named To College Soccer News’ National Team Of The Week

PITTSBURGH – Junior forward Bertin Jacquesson earned a spot on the College Soccer News' National Team of the Week after helping Pitt secure a pair of NCAA Tournament victories last week, as announced Monday afternoon.
The Frenchman opened his week scoring both goals for the Panthers in their 2-1 home victory over Cleveland State in the NCAA Championship First Round match at Ambrose Urbanic Field. The junior posted a team-high four shots while netting the game-winner for Pitt in the 77th minute of the match. The brace for Jacquesson marked his first career two-goal game.
On Sunday, Jacquesson helped the Panthers secure their third straight trip to the Sweet Sixteen as he picked up an assist on Luis Sahmkow's goal in the 66th minute of the match. Prior to his assist, Jacquesson was dragged down inside the Akron box and earned a penalty kick for the Panthers which was converted by his teammate Valentin Noel. He finished off his match with two shots in 80 minutes of work.
On the year, Jacuqesson ranks second on the team in goals (7) and points (17) while also netting a pair of game-winning goals. He has now recorded 22 career assists which ties him for second most in program history while his 58 career points are tied for ninth most in program history.
The Panthers (10-4-5) will now head to No. 1 Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 27 for the NCAA Championship Third Round match. Sunday's match will kick at 6:00 pm on ESPN+.
