PITTSBURGH - University of Pittsburgh's women's lacrosse head coach, Emily Boissonneault, announced the additions of Chloe Jones and Karina Latsko to the coaching staff Friday morning. Jones will serve as student coach and Latsko as volunteer assistant coach.
"Karina and Chloe are huge additions to our staff," Boissoneault said. "Chloe came to us with a ton of ACC knowledge and experience. Adding her to the staff was important to continuing to prepare and educate our young team. Karina has a charisma to her that is infectious. She loves her teammates and this city."
Chloe Jones entered graduate school last year at Pitt and received a degree in psychology from the University of Virginia in 2021. Over the course of her lacrosse career, the Slingerlands, NY native recorded 54 points and played in and started all 19 games as a team captain for Pitt.
"I'm really excited to be a part of the staff this year," Jones said. "Pitt lacrosse and everyone involved helped me to find my passion for the sport again, and I cannot wait to give back to both the coaches and the girls this year! Hail to Pitt!"
Similarly to Jones, Karina Latsko enrolled in graduate school at Pitt this past year after receiving her undergraduate degree from Butler University. Throughout her five seasons, Latsko totaled 59 points, was a 4x Big East All-Academic Team selection, and achieved the 2022 season-high of six draw controls in the Panthers' first win in program history against Duquesne.
"I am so excited to be returning to help coach the next generation of Pitt lacrosse," said Latsko. "It was so much fun getting to play with and learn from all of my teammates last year. I look forward to bringing that knowledge I gained to the new team and help them grow their success from last season!"
The panthers open up fall play tomorrow at the Penn State Play Day in State College. Follow @Pitt_WLAX for more!
