OSHAWA, ONTARIO – Former Panther Ally Trice will represent Haudenosaunee this weekend at the 2022 Super Sixes Lacrosse event. This tournament will be taking place in Oshawa, Ontario from October 7-10 and include England, Canada and Haudenosaunee. This exhibition event is looking to get Sixes more popularity as it continues to push onto the world lacrosse stage.
Sixes is a fast-paced version of the sport played on a smaller field (70 x 36 meters), with fewer players (6 v 6), a condensed game length (four 8-minute quarters) and a 30-second shot clock. This is the same format used during The World Games this past summer.
This will be Trice's second time playing for the Haudenosaunee Women's Lacrosse Program, as she played for the Haudenosaunee National Team at the World Championship in 2022. She will be honoring her mother's heritage on the international stage for the second time playing alongside the talented Haudenosaunee group.
In their first world championship appearance, the Haudenosaunee proudly posted an eighth place finish. Allyson Trice played in and started all eight games, recording nine ground balls, eight draw controls and two caused turnovers. The Haudenosaunee finished 3-1 in pool play and upset fifth-seeded Scotland in the round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals.
The current Panthers will be hosted by Penn State for their first fall matchups on Saturday, Oct. 8 as they travel for the Penn State Play Day.
