GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - For the first time in his Pitt career, redshirt sophomore cross country standout Jack Miller was named to the All-ACC Men's Cross Country Academic Team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.
Miller, a marketing major with a 3.30 cumulative GPA, capped the best season of his Pitt career with All-Region honors at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in November as he posted a 21st place finish in the talented field of 174 runners. His time set a new personal record 10K time as he also helped the Pitt men to their best finish at the regional meet, fifth place, in program history.
The redshirt sophomore was the highest finisher in all five meets this season including a first place finish in the season-opening Yinzer Classic. He earned a second place finish at the Penn State National Open before posting a 57th place finish at the ACC Cross Country Championships in South Bend, IN.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
