Pitt In Top 10 of LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup Fall Standings

PITTSBURGH – An outstanding fall season for Pitt Athletics is reflected in the latest LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings with the Panthers ranking 10th overall. Pitt secured 248.00 Directors' Cup points in the fall with volleyball (83), men's soccer (73), football (63) and men's cross country (29) leading the way.
Less than 30 points separate the top four institutions in the final LEARFIELD Directors' Cup fall standings for Division I with BYU totaling 368 points. BYU had a pair of runner-up finishes, women's cross country and women's soccer and a pair of top-10 finishes, men's cross country and women's volleyball.
Rounding out the top-five is Notre Dame in second with 360 points, along with a trio of Big Ten institutions – Michigan (354:00), Wisconsin (339.50) and Penn State (298:00). North Carolina (295.50), Washington (283.00), Arkansas (277.50), Florida State (259.00) and Pitt (248.00) complete the top 10 in the standings.
CONFERENCE
At the conference level, the ACC leads all Division I conferences with seven institutions in the top-25.

The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
