PITTSBURGH – Milan Brown, entering his fourth season at Pitt, has been elevated to associate head coach as announced by head coach Jeff Capel Friday morning.
"Milan has done a terrific job in all aspects with our program," said Capel. "Not only is he an outstanding coach and recruiter but he does a great job mentoring our players off the court. I have been and continue to be impressed with his commitment to bettering our program, our student-athletes and the university."
Brown has over 25 years of coaching experience, including 12 seasons as a head coach at Holy Cross (2010-15) and Mount St. Mary's (2003-10).
A 1993 graduate of Howard University, Brown has worked primarily with the guards during his tenure at Pitt. The Panthers backcourt trio of Ithiel Horton (8.9 ppg., 43 3FGs), Nike Sibande (6.9 ppg., .438 3FG Pct.) and Femi Odukale (6.6 ppg., 2.5 rpg., 2.2 apg.) along with veteran newcomer Jamarius Burton (7.0 ppg. over 90 career games at Wichita State and Texas Tech) are poised to lead to the Pitt attack in 2021-22.
Capel's staff remains intact for the fourth consecutive season with Brown continuing to work alongside associate head coach Tim O'Toole and assistant coach Jason Capel.
