
Three Incoming Panthers Earn USA Lacrosse All-America Honors

PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh incoming freshmen Ava Washington and Talia Zuco were recently named USA Lacrosse All-Americans, while fellow classmate Elise Bialecki earned Academic All-America recognition.
"It is exciting to see three of our incoming players receive USA Lacrosse All-America honors," said head coach Emily Boissonneault. "Ava and Talia were recognized for their terrific senior seasons on the field, while Elise was rewarded for her excellence in the classroom and on the field. I am proud of the accomplishments and development of our entire incoming class and eager to get started with the inaugural season of Pitt Lacrosse."
Washington capped off her senior season at Morristown High School [N.J.] with 65 goals, four assists, 21 draw controls, 22 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers. She is one of 18 girls from the New Jersey [North] region to receive USA Lacrosse All-America honors. Washington concluded her three-year high school career with 215 points on 194 goals and 21 assists.
Zuco, one of 19 All-America selections out of North Carolina, collected 61 points (48G, 13A), while leading East Chapel Hill to a state championship and earning MVP honors in the title game as a senior. She finished her career with 170 goals, 56 assists and 166 ground balls, while winning over 70 percent of her draw controls. Zuco led the East Chapel Hill to three conference titles and three appearances in the state championships.
Bialecki tallied 20 goals and six assists as a senior, while earning Academic All-America honors by displaying exemplary skills, good sportsmanship and attaining academic achievement. She also added honorable mention all-state and all-conference accolades to her resume in 2021. Bialecki intends to pursue a degree in the nursing or medical field at the University of Pittsburgh.
