Thorne to Train with Team Australia U.S. Group

PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh midfielder Abby Thorne will be at the University of Michigan this weekend to train with a group of United States-based members of Team Australia as they prepare for the 2022 World Games.
"I am beyond excited and grateful to have the opportunity to catch up with my U.S.-based Australian teammates," said Thorne. "This weekend will give us an opportunity to work hard, push each other mentally and physically, set personal and team goals and continue our preparation for the 2022 Women's World Championship."
Thorne with train with fellow U.S.-based team members Hannah Nielsen, Stephanie Kelly, Ashtyn Hiron and Stephanie McNamara. Nielsen is the head coach of the Michigan lacrosse team, while Adam Sear is an assistant for the Wolverines as well as the Australian National Team. Jen Adams, the head coach at Loyola [Md.], will also serve as an assistant coach with the Australian National Team.
The 2022 Women's World Championship is slated to be played in Towson, Md., June 29-July 9.
