Ndee, Wolter Named Office Depot/Supra Student-Athletes of the Week

Volleyball, Men’s Track & Field Student-Athletes Honored
PITTSBURGH – Chinaza Ndee of volleyball and Felix Wolter of men's track and field were named the Office Depot/Supra Student-Athletes of the Week following impressive performances in their respective sports.
Ndee, a senior right side hitter, was an integral piece of Pitt volleyball's historic run in the NCAA Tournament over the last week. Her efforts helped lead the Panthers to their first NCAA Regional Final appearance in program history, after defeating LIU (April 14), No. 14 seed Utah (April 15) and No. 3 seed Minnesota (April 18). The Houston, Texas, native delivered a team-best 3.94 kills per set on .280 hitting, while contributing 0.94 blocks per frame over Pitt's four matches played. Against No. 6 seed Washington in the Regional Final (April 19), she crossed the 1,000-kill threshold for her career, becoming the 18th Panther in program history to do so. Following the Panthers' tournament run, Ndee was selected to the All-America Second Team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), becoming the third Panther in program history to receive the honor.
Wolter, a graduate student, was sensational is his first career decathlon at Pitt this weekend as he was able to smash the Pitt school record by more than a 1000 points while also posting the second best scoring in the NCAA and eighth best in the world this year. Wolter posted a score of 7,950 as he claimed victory in eight of 10 events while also posting personal record marks in eight events. The Germany native also posted three top-10 Pitt marks during his weekend of competition as he has positioned himself for a trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships after earning All-American honors during the indoor season with a fourth place finish in the heptathlon.
