CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 1 Pitt men's soccer team fell to No. 4 Clemson, 2-0, Saturday evening at Historic Riggs Field in the Atlantic Coast Conference automatic qualifier game.

The victory for Clemson (13-3-2) gives them the automatic berth from the ACC into the NCAA Tournament. Pitt (13-3) will await its seeding Monday at noon during the NCAA Men's Soccer Selection Show.

Clemson scored its first goal in the 17^th minute, as Quinn McNeill put the Tigers up 1-0. The Panthers totaled four shots in the final eight minutes of the first half, but couldn't connect and trailed 1-0 at the break.

Both teams registered six shots, while Clemson led in corner kicks 6-3 at the half.

The match stayed, 1-0, until the 83^rd minute when Clemson scored its second goal of the contest (Isaiah Reid). Pitt forced two corners in the remaining seven minutes, but couldn't convert as it fell 2-0.
Both teams finished with 11 shots, while Pitt finished with eight corner kicks compared to Clemson's seven.

Graduate student goalkeeper Nico Campuzano had three saves on the evening. Sophomores Veljko Petkovic and Raphaël Crivello along with freshman Bertin Jacquesson each tallied two shots for the night.
