Walti Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Junior midfielder Jackson Walti was recognized by the Atlantic Coast Conference today, earning ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts in No. 5 Pitt's 2-1 double overtime victory at Virginia Tech Saturday, Mar. 27.
Walti and the defensive back line held Virginia Tech to eight shots total, including one in the first and second overtime combined. The defense also limited the Hokies to three corner kicks, including zero in the overtime periods.
The ACC Player of the Week award is the first of Walti's career and sixth of the season for Pitt. It is the second-straight week a Panther has been honored by the conference, with sophomore Valentin Noel earning Co-Offensive Player of the Week last week.
