Drumgoole Elects to Transfer Following Sophomore Season

PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh sophomore Gerald Drumgoole, Jr., has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, head coach Jeff Capel announced Thursday afternoon.
"Gerald has been an outstanding teammate and an important member of our program over the past two seasons," said Capel. "We are grateful for his commitment to the Pitt Basketball program and supportive of his desire to seek other opportunities to continue to grow as a player. Gerald has a bright future and we wish him nothing but the best on and off the court."
Drumgoole averaged 1.4 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in 30 career contests (two starts) for the Panthers. He appeared in nine games this season scoring a season-high five points against Notre Dame and at Clemson.
The Rochester, N.Y., native was rated in the top 125 by 247 Sports out of high school following a senior season at La Lumiere [Ind.]. He started his first two games as a Panther before having his freshman season interrupted by an ankle injury.
