PITTSBURGH – Senior Bryce Washington's penalty kick goal in the 36th minute proved to be the game-winner as No. 2 Pitt defeated Duquesne, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
NEWS & NOTES
Both sides kept each other outside of the box for the first 35 minutes of action, as Pitt totaled just two shots and Duquesne one during that stretch. After a Panther free kick, a Duquesne defender raised his hand and made contact with the ball during the cross, giving Pitt a penalty kick opportunity. Washington converted, putting Pitt up 1-0. The score remained the same at halftime.
