Cameron Cash, Amy Read go two-for-two in first place finishes in Friday’s events
PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh diving team dominated the George Washington Colonials in the first of two days of events at Trees Pool Friday night. The men swept both platform and 1M events, while the women secured a 1-2-3 finish in the platform and the first and second podium spots in the 1M.
"For the first time competing platform this season, I think it went really well," head diving coach Katie Kasprzak said. "A lot of our divers had just put their dives up, so it was great to get them off and see great scores go along with them. With a little more time on platform, they'll be even better than they were tonight. On the 1M, I can see our confidence get stronger every meet and I am proud of how they fought through both the good and bad dives tonight."
Senior Amy Read and freshman Cameron Cash went two-for-two, winning both their respected platform and 1M events. Cash earned an NCAA Zone Cut in the 1M with 341.78, while the women tallied six total on the night – Read (platform/1M), Claire McDaniels (1M), Emma Gravgaard (1M), Meredith Gould (1M), and Serena Buchwald (platform).
