Almeida Named to College Soccer News’ Team of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Senior midfielder Rodrigo Almeida was honored by College Soccer News, earning a spot on the men's National Team of the Week.
Almeida tallied a career-high three assists Monday, Oct. 25 vs. UMass, helping Pitt defeat the Minutemen 5-1 at home. Almeida became the second Panther this season (Guilherme Feitosa) – and fourth player in the past two seasons – to record three assists in one match, which is tied for second in a single-game at Pitt.
The Salvador, Brazil, native also scored Pitt's second goal in a 4-1 defeat of No. 21 Virginia Tech at home Friday, Oct. 29, aiding Pitt to its second consecutive ACC Coastal Championship title.
Almeida is eighth in the ACC in goals (7), fourth in assists (6) and fourth in points per game (1.43).
The Panthers host the winner of No. 8 Virginia Tech/No. 9 Boston College Sunday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. in the ACC Championship Quarterfinal. Live coverage can be found on the ACC Network.
