PITTSBURGH—Pitt senior Cal Adomitis has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the Patrick Mannelly Award, annually presented to the top long snapper in college football.
This is the second consecutive year Adomitis has been named a semifinalist for the award.
A Pitt team captain, Adomitis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) has played in 60 consecutive contests, handling both short and long snaps throughout his career. He was a preseason Phil Steele All-American at the position.
Adomitis graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in economics and is now enrolled in Pitt's Katz Graduate School of Business. He was named to the 2021 Allstate American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team, a prestigious honor that recognizes college football student-athletes for their dedication to community service and the positive impact they have made on the lives of others.
Adomitis recently announced his "Cal's Kids" initiative, which aims to raise $94,000 for UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. The dollar total is inspired by his No. 94 jersey number.
Adomitis has helped the Panthers to an 8-2 overall record and first place in the Coastal Division with a 5-1 ACC mark. Pitt, ranked in both major Top 25 polls this week, hosts Virginia this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN2.
