Pitt’s SirVocea Dennis Named ACC Linebacker of the Week

PITTSBURGH—Pitt junior linebacker SirVocea Dennis has been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week for his performance in the Panthers' 30-23 overtime victory over North Carolina.
Dennis collected a game-high 10 tackles, three tackles for loss and an eight-yard sack. His efforts helped limit the Tar Heels to 88 rushing yards on 38 carries (2.3 avg.). North Carolina entered the contest averaging 216 rush yards, the second most in the ACC.
This is the second weekly ACC award this season for Dennis (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/The Peddie School). He was also honored following the Panthers' Oct. 23 victory over Clemson. He has been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week three times during his career.

Dennis has a team-high 65 tackles on the season (tied with safety Brandon Hill). He has additionally compiled seven TFLs, two sacks, an interception (returned 50 yards for a TD against Clemson) and a blocked field goal.
Dennis has helped the Panthers to an 8-2 overall record and first place in the Coastal Division with a 5-1 ACC mark. Pitt, ranked in both major Top 25 polls this week, hosts Virginia this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN2.
