PITTSBURGH – The No. 1 seed Pitt men's soccer team fell, 2-0, to No. 5 seed Notre Dame at Ambrose Urbanic Field Wednesday evening.

Pitt's 19 match home winning streak is snapped with the loss. The Panthers entered with the ACC's longest home winning streak and the second longest home unbeaten streak in the country.
Pitt recorded 17 corner kicks, the most under Head Coach Jay Vidovich while at Pitt. It was the most corner kicks in a single-game since the Panthers tallied 19 vs. Presbyterian Aug. 30, 2014.
The Panthers' record moves to 11-5-1 overall. They await their seed in the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship, which will be announced via selection show Monday, Nov. 15.

Pitt opened up the contest recording the first six shots, nearly scoring on the first as junior Valentin Noel missed just wide of the post. The Panthers also registered five corner kicks before Notre Dame's first shot, but could not convert.

The Panthers led 7-4 in shots and 7-0 in corner kicks after a scoreless 45 minutes.

Pitt outshot the Fighting Irish 5-2 through the first 25 minutes of the second half. Notre Dame scored the first goal in the 77^th minute, as Jack Lynn broke the 0-0 stalemate. Fourteen seconds later, Notre Dame added its second goal of the contest to lead 2-0.

The Panthers forced three corner kicks and four shots in the remaining 13 minutes, but were held scoreless the remainder of the match.

Pitt will await its next match following the conclusion of the NCAA Selection show Monday, Nov. 15.
