After holding a virtual event in 2020, the Cathy & John Pelusi Family Life Skills Program was excited to welcome back to the Petersen Events Center student-athletes and industry professionals for the 2021 Career Networking Night. This annual program brings together student-athletes and local professionals for a night of networking and professional development.
This year the program saw record student-athlete attendance with 110+ athletes participating.
Mikayla Davidson, Women's Track and Field and co-chair of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Professional Development Subcommittee: "Being back in person this year, we had the highest student-athlete turnout in the history of Career Networking Night. It was great to see student-athletes, whether they were freshman or graduate students, making connections with the industry professionals at the event."
In addition to great student-athlete turnout, the event featured a range of networkers from over 40 distinct employers looking to connect specifically with student-athletes.
Isaiah Stewart, Football: "That was my first Career Networking Night and I just made the most of my opportunity getting to know different companies and people. Do you shake in your shoes in the beginning? Absolutely, but once you start talking to people, you'll get warmed up in no time making connections."
