No. 13 Pitt Shuts Out Cleveland State at Home

PITTSBURGH – The No. 13 Pitt men's soccer team extended its home match winning streak to 15 games with a 4-0 shutout of Cleveland State Tuesday evening at Ambrose Urbanic Field.

Pitt totaled three shots in the first nine minutes of play, nearly breaking the zero-zero score as junior Raphaël Crivello's header landed just wide of the post. The Panthers got on the board in the 24th minute as Feitosa one-touched a cross from senior Rodrigo Almeida inside the box for the goal.
The score remained the same at half, with Pitt outshooting the Vikings 11-3.
The Panthers got their second goal of the evening in the 69th minute as Jacquesson shot a low line drive shot from 20 yards out into the back of the net. Six minutes later (75'), Deer Lake High School alum Sullivan took a cross from three yards out from graduate student Jackson Walti and scored his first career goal, putting Pitt up 3-0.
In the 86th minute, Matuszewski scored from nearly the same spot at Sullivan as graduate student Jasper Löeffelsend and Walti each tallied their second assists, respectively.
Pitt outshot the Vikings 20-6 and finished with six corner kicks compared to Cleveland State's one. It was the first time since Oct. 7, 2019 (Howard – 30) the Panthers recorded 20+ shots in a game.
The Panthers conclude their three-match home stand against No. 3 Duke in a critical ACC Coastal Division match Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Live coverage can be found on ACCNX.

- Pitt improved to 7-3 overall and extended its win streak to three games. Tuesday's victory at home marked the 15th-straight at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
- The Panthers tallied a season-high eight assists as a team with four players recording two assists each. Pitt's last time registering eight team assists was Oct. 10, 2020 at home vs. Virginia Tech.
- Freshman Guilherme Feitosa scored his second goal in as many games, while Bertin Jacquesson finished with a career-high four points (1 goal, two assists). The Frenchman has eight points in his last three matches.
- Pennsylvania natives Michael Sullivan (Tarentum) and Lucas Matuszewski (York) earned their first career goals.
