PITTSBURGH—Pitt senior Cal Adomitis is one of four long snappers named to the Patrick Mannelly Award's Midseason Top Performers list.
The Patrick Mannelly Award is annually presented to the top long snapper in college football. Adomitis was a semifinalist for the 2020 award and is considered one of the top candidates for the 2021 honor.
A Pitt team captain, Adomitis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) has played in 57 consecutive contests, handling both short and long snaps throughout his career. He was a preseason Phil Steele All-American at the position.
Adomitis graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in economics and is now enrolled in Pitt's Katz Graduate School of Business. He was named to the 2021 Allstate American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team, a prestigious honor that recognizes college football student-athletes for their dedication to community service and the positive impact they have made on the lives of others.
Adomitis recently announced his "Cal's Kids" initiative, which aims to raise $94,000 for UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. The dollar total is inspired by his No. 94 jersey number.
Adomitis and the Panthers are 6-1 overall and 3-0 in ACC play. Owning a No. 17 national ranking by Associated Press, Pitt will host Miami on Saturday, Oct. 30, for a noon game at Heinz Field.
