PITTSBURGH -- The University of Pittsburgh men's basketball game Jan. 12 at Georgia Tech has been moved to a 5 p.m. tip as announced by the league office Sunday. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
Pitt, 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the ACC, has had its past two games postponed due to COVID-19 protocols. The Panthers are scheduled to host Florida State Saturday, Jan. 9 before the matchup with the Yellow Jackets. Florida State had its weekend contest against Duke postponed due to positive COVID-19 results in the program.
The Panthers last played Dec. 22 falling 64-54 to Louisville, while playing without their two top scorers and rebounders (Justin Champagnie and Au'Diese Toney) and head coach Jeff Capel. Champagnie, averaging 17.8 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, is sidelined with a knee injury, while Toney missed the Louisville game with an ankle injury. Toney has scored 15 or more points in five of his six games played and is averaging 16.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
