Pitt Ranked No. 18 in FloWrestling 2020-21 Dual Rankings

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh wrestling team is No. 18 in the FloWrestling 2020-21 NCAA D1 Dual Preseason Rankings. The Panthers return NCAA qualifiers - Nino Bonaccorsi, Greg Harvey, Cole Matthews, Micky Phillippi and Jake Wentzel – from a year ago.
Pitt finished the 2019-20 campaign with a 10-4 dual meet record and was No. 9 in the final FloWrestling Dual Rankings.
Iowa, with all 10 projected starters ranked individually, holds the top spot in the preseason rankings. Michigan, Penn State, Cornell and Nebraska round out the top 5. The ACC is well represented in the preseason poll with the Panthers joined in the top 25 by NC State (6), North Carolina (10) and Virginia Tech (12).
The FloWrestling Preseason Rankings are based largely on their individual rankings and teams with NCAA qualifiers or wrestlers re-entering the lineup from redshirts. Pitt had five wrestlers listed in the FloWrestling Individual Rankings – Phillippi (5), Bonaccorsi (6), Wentzel (8), Harvey (11) and Matthews (17).
