Kittell Joins Panthers After Four Years at Florida
PITTSBURGH – Head lacrosse coach Emily Boissonneault announced the addition of University of Florida graduate transfer Madisyn Kittell to the Panthers' roster Friday evening.
"I am pleased to announce the addition of Madisyn to our inaugural team," Boissonneault said. "At the University of Florida, she competed for both conference championships and in the NCAA Tournament. These experiences will be invaluable as we build our program. Madisyn is a fiery player who will provide us leadership on the offensive end."
Kittell is the third transfer and 12th overall to join the Pitt lacrosse roster.
"I am thrilled to have this privilege of joining the Panther Family while competing in the ACC conference," Kittell said. "I cannot wait to arrive on campus and begin building this program with the talented coaching staff alongside my future teammates. This is a very exciting time, not only for me but the University of Pittsburgh and the game of women's Lacrosse!"
The Syracuse, N.Y., native spent the last four seasons at the University of Florida where she played in 52 total games, recording 31 goals with 24 ground balls. Kittell is a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll awardee in 2018 and 2019, and was named to the Big East All-Academic Team in 2017 and 2018. As a freshman, Kittell earned SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2017.
In the shortened 2020 season, the attacker made three starts and five appearances, recording two goals, one ground ball, and forcing six turnovers.
Kittell comes to Pittsburgh with an established relationship with recently added assistant coach Haley Hicklen, who is a 2019 graduate of Florida.
Prior to joining the Gators, Kittell enjoyed a successful high school campaign at West Genesee and played club lacrosse for the New York Outlaws. Kittell was named CNYCL All-League in 2016 and was a three-time First Team All-Central New York selection. She compiled 40 goals, 20 assists, 15 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and 8 draw controls during her senior season.
The inaugural competition season is set for 2021-22.
