
Harris, Champagnie Named Office Depot/Supra Student-Athletes of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Dayshanette Harris of women's basketball and Justin Champagnie of men's basketball were named the Office Depot/Supra Student-Athletes of the Week following impressive performances in their respective sports.
Harris had a big week for the Panthers as she helped secure their first ACC win of the season on Sunday as they downed Clemson at Petersen Events Center. The sophomore finished off her dominant week averaging a team-high 21.5 points, 7.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals across just 27.5 minutes/game. Harris led the Panthers in scoring in both contests while netting back-to-back 20+ point games for just the second time in her career.
Harris was dominant in a road loss to Virginia Tech Thursday as she posted 22 points, a career-high nine assists, five rebounds and three steals across 32 minutes. She is the only player in the NCAA this season to post at least 20 points, nine assists and five rebounds in a single game. In Sunday's home win over Clemson, Harris had a game-high 21 points, five assists and three rebounds in just 23 minutes of work due to foul trouble.
For the season, Harris ranks second on the team averaging career-highs in points (15.6 ppg), rebounds (6.4 rpg) and assists (5.8 apg). Her 5.8 apg rank second in the ACC while her 29 helpers on the season currently ranks ninth in the NCAA.
Champagnie delivered one of the most impressive two-game stretches in recent ACC history averaging 22.0 points, 20.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in wins at Northwestern and against Gardner-Webb. He recorded the first 20/20 game in by a Pitt player since the 2008-09 (Dejuan Blair) season with 20 points and 20 rebounds in a come from behind win at Northwestern in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. His 20-point effort included a game clinching dunk with 5.8 second remaining to give Pitt its first lead of the game and help the Panthers overcome an 11-point halftime deficit.
Champagnie topped that performance with 24 points and 21 rebounds to become the first NCAA Division I player since Caleb Swanigan of Purdue (2016-17) to post consecutive 20/20 games. He went 10-of-20 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line and added a career-high five assists, two blocks and a steal in the win.
