Women’s, Men’s Basketball Student-Athletes Honored
PITTSBURGH – Jayla Everett of women's basketball and Au'Diese Toney of men's basketball were named the Office Depot/Supra Student-Athletes of the Week following impressive performances in their respective sports.

Everett, a junior transfer, made an immediate impact for the women's basketball team this week as she was the leading scorer in a pair of Pitt victories to open the season. Everett finished off her strong two-game week averaging 20.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 1.5 bpg while connecting on a team-high seven three-pointers and shooting 50% from behind the arc. Everett's 20.5 ppg currently ranks second in the ACC while her perfect (12-12 FT) free throw percentage is tops in the conference.

In her Pitt debut, Everett led all scorers with 18 points while connecting on 6-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-7 from deep across just 27 minutes of work as Pitt handed George Mason the 72-57 defeat. In her second game as a Panther, Everett flashed moments of greatness as she finished with a game-high 23 points and five rebounds while going 10-for-10 from the charity stripe in Pitt's 71-58 victory over Hofstra.

Toney scored 20 points in each of Pitt's two men's basketball games this week, marking the first back-to-back 20+ point games in his career. He went 8-of-11 from the field, including a career-best 4-of-6 from three-point range, to score a team-high 20 points in the opener. He added seven rebounds and three steals in the contest. In Saturday's win over Drexel, Toney scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field to go along with four rebounds, a career-high six assists and a steal.
