Pitt-Northwestern to Tip Off at 9:15 PM on ESPNU Dec. 9

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh men's basketball team will play the anchor game of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge with a 9:15 p.m. (ET) tipoff at Northwestern Wednesday, Dec. 9.
The Panthers are 3-3 all-time in ACC/Big Ten Challenge games, including a 1-2 mark in home contests. Pitt topped Rutgers, 71-60, in the challenge last season as Xavier Johnson paced the Panthers with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field to go along with three rebounds, eight assists and two steals.
Pitt has won the past three meetings and is 9-10 in the all-time series against the Wildcats. Last season, the Panthers posted a 72-59 win over Northwestern in the title game of the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off as Justin Champagnie tallied a game-high 21 points to go along with seven rebounds and three steals.
The ACC has a 12-6-3 edge in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge with wins in each of the first 10 years of the event. The Big Ten claimed last year's challenge with an 8-6 record.
ESPN also announced game times and network affiliations for all games on its networks (ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPNNEWS) through December 6. ACC Network released its broadcast schedule for ACC men's basketball non-conference games through Dec. 22. Non-conference ACC games on the ACC's Regional Sports Networks also have been announced.
Additional game times and television assignments will be posted once they are available.
