Pitt’s Kenny Pickett Named to Unitas Golden Arm Award Top 15

PITTSBURGH—Pitt senior quarterback Kenny Pickett has been named one of the top 15 candidates for this year's Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, presented to the top upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class.
Pickett, who missed two October games due to injury, returned last weekend as the Panthers' starting quarterback at Florida State and directed a 41-17 win. He sparked the victory by completing 21-of-27 passes (78%) for 210 yards and also rushed for a 10-yard score.
In six games this year, Pickett has completed 62% of his passes (129 of 207) for 1,599 yards and eight touchdowns with three interceptions. He leads the Panthers with six rushing touchdowns, the most by a Pitt quarterback since 2002.
Despite missing a pair of contests, Pickett still ranks among the nation's top 30 in six different statistical categories: total passing yards (18th, 1,599), completions per game (23rd, 21.50), points responsible for (23rd, 84 total), passing yards per game (24th, 266.5), rushing touchdowns (27th, six total) and total offense per game (28th, 288.5).
Pickett has also established himself among the most prolific Pitt quarterbacks of all time. He currently ranks fifth in career passing yards (7,175) and total offense (7,730). In 2019, Pickett became just the fifth Pitt quarterback to throw for 3,000 yards in a season (3,098).
A native of Oakhurst, N.J., and graduate of Ocean Township High School, Pickett earned his bachelor's degree in marketing and is now enrolled in Pitt's Katz Graduate School of Business.
