PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh swimming & diving program started Saturday by honoring 15 seniors with a ceremony and finished the day by dominating the annual Western Pennsylvania Invitational in front of a packed Trees Pool.
The Panthers celebrated the seniors – 12 swimmers and three divers – before winning every event in which Pitt entered an athlete during Saturday's swimming action against local rivals Duquesne, Carnegie Mellon, California (PA) and Clarion.
"Today was a great opportunity to recognize this senior class," said Pitt head coach John Hargis. "They came in with me four years ago and have worked hard every day, helping to develop the culture of this program. We will always be grateful for everything that they've done for Pitt swimming and diving."
