Boissonneault Adds First Coach to Staff
PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh head lacrosse coach Emily Boissonneault announced Wednesday afternoon the addition of Daniela Eppler as an assistant coach.
Eppler is the first assistant coach to be hired after the announcement of Boissonneault as the head coach June 2019.
"I am thrilled to announce the addition to Daniela to our team," said Boissonneault. "During my search for an assistant coach, I wanted to make sure we focused on candidates that pride themselves on their work ethic and goal setting. It was clear to me that after a few minutes of speaking with Daniela that she was the right person to help build a strong program."
Eppler comes to Pitt from Washington, D.C., where she was a Business Transformation Consultant for IBM. She is also a current member of the Women's Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) New York Fight, as she was part of the inaugural WPLL draft class in 2017.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to join Emily in building Pitt's lacrosse program," said Eppler. "I am eager to confront the challenge of helping to build a program that can compete in the ACC, a conference in which I spent my collegiate career. Most importantly, I am beyond excited to learn from such a talented head coach and to see all that we can accomplish together with the incredible support from the Pitt community."
In addition to working at IBM and playing professional lacrosse, Eppler also is heavily involved with the Mexican National Team and is the head coach of the U-19 squad. This is a team Eppler also played for back in 2017 where she was the 10th leading scoring in the 2017 FIL Rathbones Women's Lacrosse World Cup.

Eppler has made various coaching stops with school and club teams including Bryn Mawr School for Girls, Skywalkers Lacrosse, Durham University and Snipers Lacrosse.
Prior to starting her coaching career, Eppler was a four-year starter at the University of Virginia where she was a two-time member of the All-ACC Academic Women's Lacrosse Team and IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. She finished her career with 98 draw controls, 94 groundballs and 36 caused turnovers.
Eppler graduated from Virginia with a bachelor's of arts in foreign affairs and a master's of public policy. She then received a master's of science in management from Durham University.
