Pitt Junior Named to All-South Region for Second Time in Career
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior Edward Kizza of the University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team has been named to the Second Team All-South Region by the United Soccer Coaches, as announced Monday afternoon.
Kizza earned the same honor a year ago as a sophomore.
The Kampala, Uganda native finished his junior campaign with a team-best 28 points off 12 goals and four assists. Kizza attempted a team-high 30 shots on goal and netted five game-winners this season. The forward also started and played in all 20 games, logging 1,627 minutes.
In addition to the United Soccer Coaches honors, Kizza also earned All-ACC First Team honors and was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team earlier this season.
The Panthers finished the season 10-8-2 overall and 4-3-1 in ACC play. Pitt fell in the semifinal round of the ACC Tournament to Clemson and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after earning a bid for the first time since 1965.
