Kizza Named to Scholar All-Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior Edward Kizza of the University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team has been named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region Team, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
Kizza becomes the first Panther to earn the postseason academic honor.
A junior marketing major from Kampala, Uganda, Kizza boasts a 3.31 cumulative GPA all while totaling a team-best 28 points off 12 goals and four assists during the 2019 campaign. Kizza attempted a team-high 30 shots on goal and converted five game-winners this season. The forward also started and played in all 20 games, logging 1,627 minutes.
In addition to the Scholar All-East Region award, Kizza also earned United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-South Region honors, All-ACC First Team and was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team.
The Panthers finished the season 10-8-2 overall and 4-3-1 in ACC play. Pitt fell in the semifinal round of the ACC Tournament to Clemson and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after earning a bid for the first time since 1965.
