Panthers Enter Postseason Next Week at Home
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Notre Dame Friday night at Alumni Stadium in the regular season finale.
With the loss, the Panthers move to 8-6-2 overall and 4-3-1 against ACC foes. The Irish improve to 9-6-1 and finish 3-5-0 in conference play.
Notre Dame netted the lone goal of the match in the 17th minute.
Pitt was in control the majority of the game, registering 15 shots to Notre Dame's five. However, the Irish finished with three shots on goal, while the Panthers only had two. Pitt also drew nine corners, while Notre Dame only had one.
Junior Alexander Dexter recorded a team-high five shots with one on goal, while fellow junior Edward Kizza attempted five shots with one on goal.
Pitt enters postseason play next week in the ACC Tournament. The bracket will be released later this evening.
